A firmer, focused treatment

What is deep tissue massage?

Deep tissue massage is a firmer style of massage focused on areas of muscular tightness, tension and stiffness. The therapist works more slowly and deliberately than during a lighter Swedish or relaxation treatment, adjusting the pressure throughout the appointment according to your comfort.

The treatment may include long controlled strokes, focused pressure and targeted work around specific muscle groups. Deep tissue massage does not need to be excessively painful to be effective. Good communication with your therapist is important, and you should always say if the pressure feels uncomfortable.

Your therapist travels to your home, hotel or workplace with a professional massage table and massage oils, allowing you to relax without travelling to a clinic or spa.

Deep tissue or Swedish massage?

Swedish massage generally uses smoother, flowing techniques and is often selected for relaxation. Deep tissue massage normally involves firmer, more focused work. Many treatments combine elements of both styles depending on your needs and preferred pressure.

Why clients choose deep tissue massage

Potential benefits of a firmer massage treatment

Individual experiences vary, but clients commonly choose deep tissue massage when they want focused attention on muscular tension, stiffness and overworked areas.

01

Muscle Tension

Focused pressure can help clients feel less tight through heavily used muscle groups.

02

Mobility & Flexibility

Massage may help reduce the feeling of stiffness and support comfortable movement.

03

Post-Exercise Recovery

Active clients often book after training, sport or physically demanding work.

04

Neck & Shoulders

Targeted work can focus on areas affected by desk work, driving or repetitive tasks.

05

Back & Leg Tightness

Your therapist can focus on the muscle groups that feel most overworked.

06

Relaxation

Although the pressure is firmer, many clients still find the treatment relaxing.
